Reserve a Merced River Morning 1/2-day Trip:
ONLY 1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES FROM YOSEMITE VALLEY, our morning 1/2-day trips cover 11 miles, include parking, wetsuits/paddle jackets (if needed), and a round-trip bus shuttle. Meet at 8:00 am sharp, and return to vehicles by 12:00-12:30 pm. Minimum age is 8-12 depending on water levels. No lunch is provided, so eat a hearty breakfast before you meet us.
Later in the season as the snow melt slows, we transition our 1/2-day trips down to “the Gorge”, a 5 mile narrow, scenic section of the river from Briceburg to Railroad Flat. The water is warmer, the air temperature hot, and the lower water rapids are fun and technical. We stop at a calm area for swimming, and guests love jumping off “Jump Rock”. Because of the slower pace (offering fun, technical rapids…you still wear your life jacket and helmet!) and fun water play activities associated with this trip, clients have said this trip offered more family fun than our higher water trips. Minimum age is 7-9 depending on the swimming ability of your kids.
